It’s been a while since I’ve had radio on my mind, given the way the last couple of years have gone. But I’m in a new QTH, getting ready to get set up for radio and projects again.
I’m back up on 2 meters and 70 centimeters with lightly portable operation from the front porch and a quick and dirty ground plane antenna using 12 ga house wire built on a SO-239 connector. The antenna support is a twenty-foot mast made of 2″ PVC pipe. I’ll be building some new antennas soon, of course.
HF may be coming back up this weekend as well, as I get the operating position built and set up, and install some new antennas systems for that as well. I’ll have considerably more flexibility at the new QTH, and may even set everything up for 160 meters as well, a band I’ve always wanted to work.
